CPT (Ret.) Mark Little
Co-founder, President

CPT Little enlisted in the Army in 2002. He served as an enlisted Soldier in a Sapper Squad, specializing in explosives until the rank of SGT. In 2006 he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, graduating from George Mason University. Less than one year later, he was deployed to Iraq where he led more than 60 Soldiers in continuous combat operations.

CPT Little commanded over 175 combat patrols during his 3 months in Iraq and was hit by 3 IED’s and numerous ambushes. Exactly one month after receiving a Purple Heart from an IED blast injury, he was involved in a third IED explosion which tore through his armored vehicle and resulted in the loss of both legs.

CPT Little’s awards include the Bronze Star, 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Army Commendation Medals, and the Combat Action Badge.

Jason Ely
Co-founder, Treasurer

Mr. Ely is a lifetime supporter of the US Military and has spent many years raising awareness for the needs of the US military veteran community. In 2012, he participated in a 20-mile ruck-march carrying a military pack filled with bricks to honor fallen and severely wounded soldiers during the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. He spent several years directly supporting the military as a DoD civilian and currently serves the broader federal government as a management consultant on projects in budgeting, financial risk management and internal controls.
